2 Fast 2 Furious follows ex‑LAPD officer Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) who’s on the run in Miami after helping his friend Dominic evade arrest. To clear his record, he accepts a covert deal from the FBI and chooses his old friend Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) as his partner. Together, they go undercover to transport “dirty money” for the drug lord Carter Verone, with the help of undercover Customs agent Monica Fuentes (Eva Mendes).
