28 Days Later follows Jim, a bicycle courier who awakens from a coma in a deserted London hospital to discover that a highly contagious "Rage" virus has decimated the population, turning the infected into mindless, aggressive killers. After being rescued by a small band of survivors including the hardened Selena and the protective Frank, Jim joins them on a perilous journey across a desolate Great Britain toward a military blockade near Manchester that promises safety. However, upon reaching their destination, they find that the true horror may lie not within the infected, but in the desperate and twisted psyche of the uninfected soldiers they encounter.
