Barfi!

Set in the 1970s against the scenic backdrops of Darjeeling and Kolkata, the story follows Murphy "Barfi" Johnson, a charming and optimistic young man who is speech and hearing impaired. Barfi develops a deep, complicated bond with Shruti, who eventually succumbs to societal pressure to marry a "normal" man. Years later, their paths cross again as Barfi is on the run with Jhilmil, a young woman with autism whom he has befriended and grown to love.
