Bhalwan Singh is a Punjabi period-drama-comedy set in colonial-era Punjab (circa 1938). Ranjit Bawa plays Bhalwan—a village underdog with grand dreams of heroism. Despite being seen as a “good-for-nothing,” Bhalwan—and his friend Dittu—embark on a daring caper: kidnapping a British architect. This half-baked but humorous rebellion finally earns him both recognition and fulfillment. Directed by Param Shiv, with a heartfelt script by Sukhraj Singh (and screenplay by Karan Sandhu and Dheeraj Kumar), the film blends witty comedy, family-centric drama, and patriotic spirit, supported by a solid ensemble cast and music by Gurmoh. The result is an entertaining tribute to courage and self-worth from an unlikely hero.
