Paul Lopez, a reclusive and struggling screenwriter living in a remote mountain town, finds his life upended after he offers a place to stay to a mysterious drifter named Jack. As a fierce storm cuts off the power to his isolated cabin, the initial gesture of kindness descends into a claustrophobic nightmare when Jack takes Paul hostage and forces him to write.
