Eddington

Set during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in May 2020, Eddington is a dark, satirical neo-Western that follows the escalating personal and political feud between the small-town Sheriff Joe Cross (Joaquin Phoenix) and Mayor Ted Garcia (Pedro Pascal). What begins as a petty dispute over mask mandates and local lockdowns in a fictional New Mexico town rapidly descends into a nightmare of conspiracy theories, violence, and institutional collapse. As Joe launches a vengeful mayoral campaign fueled by misinformation, the community is pushed to its breaking point, culminating in a brutal showdown that explores the fragility of truth in a hyper-polarized society.
