“Everything’s Going to Be Great” follows the Smart family over the course of a year as they wrestle with oversized dreams and complicated identities. Buddy (Bryan Cranston) is an eternally optimistic regional theater producer, while his pragmatic wife Macy (Allison Janney) does her best to keep their family grounded. Their two very different sons — Lester, who’s passionate about theater, and Derrick, the sporty older brother — navigate their own insecurities, ghosts of the past, and the challenge of belonging.
