Gustaakh Ishq

Set in 1998 against the evocative backdrops of Old Delhi and Malerkotla, Gustaakh Ishq (formerly titled Ul Jalool Ishq) follows Nawabuddin "Pappan" Rizvi, a man struggling to save his late father's dying Urdu printing press. In a desperate bid to restore the press's prestige, he travels to Punjab to persuade the reclusive and legendary poet Aziz Beg to publish his forgotten verses. To gain the poet's trust, Pappan poses as an aspiring disciple, but his mission becomes complicated when he falls for Aziz’s independent daughter, Mannat. The film is a poetic exploration of mentorship, the elegance of the Urdu language, and the delicate balance between professional desperation and sincere emotional connection.
