Humans In The Loop

Set in rural Jharkhand, the film follows Nehma, an Oraon Adivasi single mother who returns to her ancestral village following a divorce and takes up work as a data annotator training machine learning models. While striving to build stability and keep her children rooted, she increasingly recognizes the deep cultural and systemic biases encoded into the artificial intelligence she is instructing—sparking quiet personal resistance as she reconciles indigenous knowledge systems with the sterile demands of digital automation.
