I Love My Dad follows Chuck, an estranged and hopelessly out-of-touch father who desperately wants to reconnect with his troubled son, Franklin. After being blocked on social media, Chuck takes the misguided step of impersonating a local waitress online to check in on his son's well-being. The situation spirals into a cringe-inducing nightmare when Franklin begins to fall for this imaginary woman and insists on meeting her in person, leaving Chuck trapped in a web of his own making as he inadvertently catfishes his own son.
