Arjun Talwar, a supremely gifted former Ranji cricketer who walked away from the sport in his youth, finds himself struggling financially and living in domestic disillusionment alongside his wife, Vidya. When his young son Kittu innocently asks for an expensive Indian team jersey for his birthday, Arjun's inability to afford it shatters his self-esteem. Pushed by the desire to be a hero in his son's eyes rather than a defeated failure, thirty-six-year-old Arjun makes an improbable return to the pitch, defying age, personal adversity, and long-buried health secrets to earn his place on the national team.
