KGF: Chapter 1

K.G.F: Chapter 1 is a 2018 Indian action drama directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films. Set in the 1970s, it tells the story of Rocky (played by Yash), an ambitious orphan from Bombay who rises through the criminal underworld. Driven by a promise to his dying mother, Rocky sets out to gain power and wealth. His journey leads him to the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF)—a secret, oppressive gold mine ruled by the tyrant Garuda. Sent there to assassinate Garuda, Rocky witnesses the brutal conditions of enslaved workers and becomes their unexpected liberator. The film ends with Rocky killing Garuda, setting off a revolution and establishing himself as a rising legend. With powerful action, striking visuals, and a strong social theme, K.G.F: Chapter 1 became a blockbuster, grossing over ₹250 crore worldwide and setting the stage for Chapter 2.
