Machaan

Set in the rural village of Sabalpur, the film follows Bholashankar, a kind-hearted villager dedicated to helping his community. After standing up to a local rival named Madhav and moving to a town for work, Bhola falls ill and is mistakenly diagnosed with AIDS. When he returns home, Madhav capitalizes on the widespread ignorance and fear surrounding the disease, turning the entire village against Bhola and banishing him to live alone in an isolated tree shelter (machaan). Driven by superstition, hysteria, and stigma, the villagers violently cast him out before a tragic hospital revelation exposes the truth about his misplaced medical report.
