Rise of the Planet of the Apes

A brilliant but ethically fraught scientist (Will Rodman, played by James Franco) tests an experimental drug designed to cure Alzheimer’s — inadvertently giving a chimpanzee fetus enhanced intelligence. The infant chimp, Caesar (portrayed via motion-capture by Andy Serkis), grows up with human-like intellect and emotions. When mistreated and imprisoned, Caesar transforms from a docile experiment into a powerful leader, rallying fellow apes into a revolt that challenges humanity’s dominance.
