Robot Dreams

Set in a vibrant 1980s New York City inhabited by anthropomorphic animals, Robot Dreams follows Dog, a lonely canine living in Manhattan who decides to order and assemble a companion robot to stave off his isolation. The two quickly forge an inseparable and joyful bond exploring the city together, but after an idyllic late-summer day at Playland Beach, Robot's metal joints rust from seawater, rendering him completely immobilized on the sand. Forced to leave him behind overnight until the beach reopens, Dog finds the entrance suddenly locked and fenced off for the entire winter season, setting into motion a poignant, dialogue-free journey where both Dog and the dreaming Robot must navigate separation, longing, new connections, and the bittersweet resilience of love and memory.
