Same Kind of Different as Me

Same Kind of Different as Me is a 2017 American Christian‑drama based on a true story. It follows Ron Hall, a successful art dealer in Texas whose marriage with his wife Deborah is under strain after his infidelity. To make amends and reconnect, Deborah persuades Ron to volunteer at a local homeless shelter — and there they meet Denver Moore, a fearful and hardened homeless man. Reluctantly, Ron agrees to befriend Denver at Deborah’s insistence. Over time, their unlikely friendship transforms all three lives: Ron and Deborah learn to see humanity beneath social labels, while Denver — carrying a painful past of loss, racism and violence — finds a chance at redemption and belonging. Through compassion, forgiveness and humanity, the film explores love, faith and the power of kindness to change lives.
