When a remote Federation outpost, Fort Casey, falls under a massive bug attack, the crew of the fast attack ship Alesia is dispatched to evacuate survivors and secure vital military intelligence. However, the mission takes a dark turn when Minister Carl Jenkins commandeers the starship John A. Warden for a clandestine operation and disappears into a nebula. Battle-hardened troopers, including the legendary Johnny Rico and Captain Carmen Ibanez, must launch a desperate rescue mission only to discover that an Arachnid Queen has seized control of the ship and is steering it toward Earth. The soldiers must fight through swarms of bugs to stop the infestation from reaching home before the Federation is forced to take extreme, world-ending measures.
