The film follows Donny Berger, a man who became an accidental teen celebrity after a scandalous affair with his teacher resulted in the birth of a son, Todd. Decades later, Donny has devolved into a hard-partying, middle-aged man facing a massive debt to the IRS. In a desperate bid to secure the money he needs to stay out of prison, he tracks down his estranged son on the eve of Todd's high-society wedding. Crashing the festivities, Donny attempts to reconnect with his son while wreaking havoc on Todd’s carefully constructed life, eventually forcing both men to confront their past and the unconventional bond they share.
