About The Choral
Set in the small Yorkshire town of Ramsden during World War I, The Choral follows a local choral society that has lost most of its male members to the Western Front. To keep the ensemble alive, the committee recruits local teenage boys and enlists the exacting and unconventional Dr. Henry Guthrie as their new chorus master. As the community grapples with the encroaching chaos of war and the looming threat of conscription, the group finds a shared sense of hope and defiance through the power of music, eventually staging a poignant performance of Edward Elgar's The Dream of Gerontius.
