The Heartbreak Kid

Eddie Cantrow is a forty-year-old sporting goods store owner who has remained single and indecisive for years. After a chance encounter with a beautiful woman named Lila, he is pressured by his father and best friend to finally take the plunge into marriage. However, during their honeymoon in Mexico, the "perfect" Lila reveals a series of increasingly terrifying and obnoxious personality traits. While attempting to distance himself from his new bride, Eddie meets Miranda, a down-to-earth teacher who he believes is his actual soulmate. The story follows Eddie's frantic and often disastrous attempts to woo Miranda while hiding the fact that he is already on his honeymoon with another woman.
