The Hunger Games

In a dystopian future, the nation of Panem is divided into twelve districts ruled by the wealthy Capitol, which maintains its control by forcing each district to provide two "tributes"—a boy and a girl—to compete in the annual Hunger Games. This televised event is a brutal fight to the death where only one survivor remains. When young Primrose Everdeen is selected as a tribute, her older sister Katniss volunteers to take her place.
