Set during the height of World War II, the film follows the brilliant but socially awkward mathematician Alan Turing as he leads a secret team of cryptanalysts at Bletchley Park. Their mission is to crack the "unbreakable" Enigma code used by the German Navy, a feat considered impossible by most military experts. While Turing builds a revolutionary machine to outsmart the Nazi encryption, he must also navigate the immense pressure of the war and the personal secret of his homosexuality, which was a criminal offense in Britain at the time. The film is a poignant tribute to a man whose genius shortened the war by years and laid the foundation for modern computing, yet who was tragically persecuted by the very country he helped save.
