The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Set in the early 1990s, the film follows Charlie, a socially awkward and introspective teenager entering his freshman year of high school while grappling with clinical depression and the recent suicide of his best friend. His isolated world expands when he is taken under the wings of two free-spirited seniors, Sam and her stepbrother Patrick, who introduce him to a vibrant circle of misfits and the joys of friendship, first love, and "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." However, as his new mentors prepare to leave for college, Charlie's inner fragility resurfaces, forcing him to confront deeply repressed childhood trauma in a poignant journey toward healing and self-acceptance.
