The Whale

Charlie, a severely obese and reclusive online English teacher suffering from advanced congestive heart failure, lives confined to his apartment while being cared for by his close friend and nurse, Liz. Haunted by grief and guilt after leaving his family years earlier for his late partner, Charlie refuses hospitalization and instead uses his remaining days to reconnect with his estranged, deeply resentful teenage daughter, Ellie, in a desperate, deeply emotional search for redemption and confirmation that he did at least one thing right in his life.
