Sarita Pillai, a middle-class Mumbai bank cashier weighed down by household financial strain and the debts of her unemployed husband Sushant, experiences a bizarre turn of events when bundles of cash begin mysteriously regurgitating from her choked kitchen plumbing every night. As she secretly uses the unexpected windfall to clear her husband’s arrears and uplift her family's standard of living, her newfound fortune is suddenly thrown into peril when the government abruptly announces the 2016 banknote demonetisation, thrusting her into chaos both at home and at the bank.
