Daayra

Inspired by true events surrounding a horrific gang-rape and murder case, Daayra follows the moral and procedural fallout of an alleged custodial encounter of four suspects. The investigation pits two senior police officers with contrasting ideals against each other: DCP Ajooni Kohli (Kareena Kapoor Khan), who heads the Special Investigation Team determined to uphold the strict confines and due process of the law, and DCP Raman Kumar (Prithviraj Sukumaran), whose team executed the encounter and defends immediate retribution in the face of widespread public fury. As the inquiry unfolds, the crime drama delves into the tension between institutional justice, extrajudicial punishment, and the boundaries of legal accountability.
