Ganga Ram Chaudhary, the uneducated, arrogant, and corrupt Chief Minister of the fictional state of Harit Pradesh, is remanded to judicial custody following a teacher recruitment scam and installs his docile wife, Bimla Devi, as the proxy Chief Minister. In prison, Chaudhary clashes with the stern, no-nonsense superintendent IPS Jyoti Deswal, who taunts his lack of basic qualifications. Stung by the humiliation and learning that prisoners enrolled in studies are exempt from hard physical labor, he resolves to pass his 10th-grade board examination (Dasvi) from behind bars, sparking a transformative educational journey while contending with his wife’s newfound political ambitions.
