Dedh Ishqiya

Following a botched diamond heist, slippery con artists Khalujan and Babban go their separate ways, only to cross paths again at the palace of Mahmudabad. There, a widowed noblewoman, Begum Para, organizes a prestigious poetry competition (mushaira) to select her next husband. Posing as an aristocratic Urdu poet, Khalujan attempts to charm the graceful Begum while contending with ruthless local gangster Jaan Mohammad. Meanwhile, Babban sparks an electric rapport with the Begum’s confidante, Munniya, hatching a kidnapping scheme for ransom—unaware that both women harbor far more intricate deceits of their own.
