Disneyland Handcrafted is an immersive feature documentary that chronicles the Herculean effort required to build Walt Disney's original theme park in just one year and one day. Directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Leslie Iwerks, the film utilizes rare, newly unearthed 16mm archival footage and original audio recordings to provide a "fly-on-the-wall" perspective of the construction process from 1954 to the chaotic opening day on July 17, 1955. Eschewing traditional talking-head interviews, the documentary focuses on the raw grit, artistry, and engineering breakthroughs of the hundreds of craftspeople and Imagineers who transformed an Anaheim orange grove into "The Happiest Place on Earth" against seemingly impossible odds.
