Good Kill

Major Thomas Egan is a veteran Air Force pilot who has transitioned from flying F-16 fighter jets to operating armed MQ-9 Reaper drones from a windowless shipping container in the Nevada desert. For twelve hours a day, he conducts remote-control strikes against Taliban targets in Afghanistan, only to return home to his wife and children in the quiet suburbs of Las Vegas. As his missions fall under the increasingly cold and morally ambiguous direction of the CIA, Egan begins to suffer from severe psychological strain and a mounting identity crisis. The disconnect between his suburban domestic life and the "video game" warfare he orchestrates leads to an emotional downward spiral, forcing him to question the ethics of his orders and the true cost of a war fought from a distance.
