Groundhog Day

Groundhog Day follows cynical TV weatherman Phil Connors (Bill Murray) who is sent to cover the annual Groundhog Day festivities in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, along with his producer Rita (Andie MacDowell) and cameraman Larry (Chris Elliott). After a blizzard strands him, he awakens the next morning to find that he is reliving the same day—February 2—over and over again. Trapped in a time loop, Phil at first exploits the repetition for selfish gain and indulgence, but over time he confronts his own flaws, tries to better himself, and attempts to win Rita’s affection, eventually learning empathy, humility, and meaning in life.
