HOME SWEET HOME ALONE

Home Sweet Home Alone (2021) is a comedic holiday film set during Christmas, where 10-year-old Max Mercer (Archie Yates) is accidentally left behind when his family travels to Tokyo. Meanwhile, a financially strapped couple—Pam and Jeff McKenzie (Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney)—keen to retrieve a prized family heirloom they believe resides in the Mercer house, attempt to reclaim it. Max, convinced they are kidnappers, sets up a series of elaborate and hilarious booby traps to defend his home. The film, directed by Dan Mazer and written by Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell, follows the familiar Home Alone comedic blueprint with a twist—portraying the "burglar" couple sympathetically while keeping the holiday hijinks front and center.
