Julie Reynolds is a young woman struggling to make ends meet in a sprawling, indifferent city. Her life takes a dark and surreal turn when she receives an anonymous email offering her a significant sum of money if a total stranger dies. Initially dismissing it as a hoax, she is shocked when a cash-filled envelope appears in her mailbox shortly after the stranger's death is confirmed. As the cycle repeats, Julie is drawn into a morally corrosive game of greed and consequence, forced to confront her own ethics as she becomes an unwitting, yet increasingly willing, beneficiary of a series of mysterious tragedies.
