Set amidst the bustling environment of London's Waterloo Station, the film follows two strangers, Rikki Thukral and Alvira Khan, who strike up a conversation while waiting for a delayed train. To pass the time and mask their instant mutual attraction, they both fabricate elaborate stories about their respective fiancés, Anaida and Steve, whom they claim to be meeting shortly.
