Madres

Set in 1970s California, Madres follows a young Mexican-American couple, Diana and Beto, who relocate to a small migrant farming community where Beto has been offered a job as a farm manager. As the pregnant Diana begins to suffer from strange physical symptoms and terrifying supernatural visions, she uncovers a grim talisman and a box of belongings from the home's previous residents. Her investigation into these eerie occurrences leads her away from the legends of local curses and toward a horrifying, real-world conspiracy involving the forced sterilization of migrant women in the community.
