Mandali

Inspired by Munshi Premchand's short story "Ramleela," Mandali explores the lives of traditional stage artists in Mathura struggling to maintain the sanctity of their craft amidst rising commercialization. The story follows Purushottam "Puru" Choubey, a dedicated performer who plays Lord Laxman, as his world is upended when his cousin's drug use leads to a disastrous performance and the disbandment of their troupe. Refusing to let the tradition die, Puru embarks on a personal journey to restore his family's honor and protect the cultural integrity of the Ramleela from the corrupting influence of local politics and greed.
