Mikolo

Mikolo is a 2023 Nigerian family fantasy film that blends live-action with computer-generated imagery (CGI). Directed by Niyi Akinmolayan, the story follows siblings Funke and Habeeb, who are sent from Lagos to stay with their grandmother in the village of Gbagi, Ondo State. Before their departure, a neighbor named Babablu tells them tales of the Irumole forest and gives Funke an amulet. Upon exploring the village, the children unknowingly encounter a mystical flying creature, Mikolo, which follows them home. As they hide Mikolo from their grandmother, they embark on a series of adventures, including navigating through busy night traffic and rescuing Mikolo from both a forest guardian and local bandits. Their journey leads them to a hidden magical realm, where they reunite with their parents and bid farewell to Mikolo, leaving as a united and happier family.
