Set against the backdrop of the 1970 Miss World competition in London,
Misbehaviour tells the true story of the newly formed Women’s Liberation Movement and their high-profile disruption of the live broadcast. As host Bob Hope takes the stage, the activists launch a protest to challenge the patriarchal objectification of women, while simultaneously, the pageant makes history as Jennifer Hosten becomes the first woman of color to be crowned Miss World. The film explores the intersection of second-wave feminism and racial politics through the eyes of both the protesters and the contestants, highlighting a pivotal moment in the fight for equality and representation.
