Mothering Sunday

Set on a warm spring day in 1924 England, Mothering Sunday follows Jane Fairchild, a young housemaid working for the Niven family. While her employers celebrate a neighbor's engagement, Jane is granted a rare day off, which she uses to spend secret, intimate hours with her long-term lover, Paul Sheringham. Paul is the son of a neighboring manor and is tethered to a life of privilege and an impending marriage to another woman. As their passionate encounter unfolds against the backdrop of post-World War I grief and societal expectations, a sudden and unforeseen tragedy strikes, fundamentally altering the course of Jane’s life and shaping her future as a writer.
