Night Raiders

Set in a dystopian North America in the year 2043, a military occupation controls disenfranchised cities and declares all children to be property of the State. The story follows Niska, a Cree mother who has spent years hiding her daughter, Waseese, in the wild to protect her from the regime’s forced re-education camps. When Waseese is finally captured, Niska joins an underground band of Indigenous vigilantes to infiltrate a high-security State children's academy. A powerful allegory for the history of residential schools, the film depicts a harrowing journey of resilience as a mother fights to reclaim her daughter and her people's future from a soul-crushing colonial power.
