Panghrun

Set in the Konkan region during the pre-independence era, Panghrun is a poignant period musical drama based on a short story by acclaimed poet and writer Ba Bha Borkar. The narrative follows Lakshmi, a vivacious young woman with a passion for dance and music, who is married off to Guruji, a much older widower, learned kirtankar, and father of two young daughters. As Lakshmi navigates her duties and grapples with the unfulfilled longing for physical companionship and emotional intimacy, Guruji remains consumed by mourning his deceased wife and guilt over his new marriage. The story delicately unfolds their spiritual and emotional conflict, capturing tradition, unspoken human desires, and compassion.
