Resident Evil

“Resident Evil (2002)” is the first film adaptation loosely based on the video-game series of the same name. In this movie, a top-secret underground genetics facility called “The Hive,” run by the powerful corporation Umbrella Corporation, suffers a catastrophic viral outbreak — the virus kills staff and reanimates them as flesh-eating undead. An elite paramilitary unit, accompanied by an amnesiac “Alice” (played by Milla Jovovich), is sent to infiltrate the Hive. The team has only a few hours to navigate hordes of mutated “zombies,” escape traps, battle mutants, and shut down the facility’s supercomputer before the virus spreads beyond containment and threatens humanity. The film blends horror, action, sci-fi, and thriller elements in a tense, high-stakes fight for survival.
