Serendipity

During a chance encounter while Christmas shopping at Bloomingdale's, Jonathan Trager and Sara Thomas feel a powerful mutual attraction despite both being in committed relationships. Sara, a firm believer in destiny, refuses to exchange phone numbers and instead opts to leave their future to fate by tracking their contact information through a five-dollar bill and a used book. Years later, as both are preparing to marry other people, they find themselves haunted by the memory of that night and embark on a frantic, cross-country search to find each other before it's too late, guided by a series of cosmic "signs" that suggest they are truly meant to be.
