Sisu

Set in the waning days of World War II in the Finland Lapland region, Sisu follows former Finnish commando-turned‐gold prospector Aatami Korpi (Jorma Tommila) who uncovers a rich vein of gold and sets off to bring his treasure to safety. Along the way he crosses paths with a retreating Waffen-SS platoon led by a ruthless officer, who decide to rob him of his haul — only to discover they have underestimated their quarry. What ensues is a lean, brutal, one-man revenge rampage in snow-scorched wilderness, embodying the Finnish concept of “sisu” (unflinching grit and determination) as Aatami fights to survive and reclaim his gold.
