Species: The Awakening is about a young woman named Miranda, who has always believed she was a normal human until she suddenly becomes sick and starts losing control of herself. Her uncle, Dr. Tom Hollander, reveals that she is actually a genetically created human-alien hybrid, and her body is now changing into something dangerous. To save her, they travel to Mexico to find the scientist who helped create her, but the treatment fails and Miranda’s alien instincts grow stronger. As she becomes more violent and uncontrollable, they must face the reality that she may not be able to stay human anymore, leading to a tense fight for survival.
