Superman III (1983) follows Clark Kent/Superman as he faces a corrupt industrialist, Ross Webster, who enlists a bumbling computer genius, Gus Gorman, to develop synthetic kryptonite and destroy Superman. The kryptonite inadvertently splits the Man of Steel into his good and evil personas, prompting Superman to contend with his dark self while thwarting Webster’s plan for world domination.
