The Banker

Inspired by true events, The Banker follows revolutionary entrepreneurs Bernard Garrett and Joe Morris, who devise an audacious plan to fight for housing integration and equal access to the American Dream in the racially oppressive 1950s and 60s. Alongside Garrett’s wife, Eunice, they train a working-class white man, Matt Steiner, to pose as the privileged face of their burgeoning real estate and banking empire while Garrett and Morris act as a janitor and a chauffeur. Their immense success eventually attracts the attention of the federal government, threatening to dismantle everything they have built for their community.
