About The Illegal
The Illegal follows the journey of Hassan, a young and passionate film student from a middle-class family in India who travels to Los Angeles to attend a prestigious film school. Driven by the "American Dream," his aspirations are quickly derailed by a series of unfortunate family setbacks and financial crises that force him to drop out of university. To support his family back home and survive in a foreign land, Hassan is pushed into the shadows as an undocumented worker in a restaurant, where he must navigate the harsh realities of the immigrant experience while struggling to keep his filmmaking dreams alive.
