The Moon

Set in the near future, South Korea’s first crewed lunar exploration mission ends in tragedy when an on-board explosion kills the crew. Five years later, the country embarks on a second mission, but a solar storm causes the spacecraft to malfunction and leaves astronaut Hwang Sun-woo (Doh Kyung-soo) stranded far from Earth. In a race against time, the space agency brings back director Kim Jae-guk (Sul Kyung-gu) — the man behind the failed first mission — to orchestrate a daring rescue. As Sun-woo fights for survival in the vacuum of space and Jae-guk grapples with his own demons on Earth, the mission becomes not just about reaching the moon but confronting personal failure, national aspiration and the meaning of human endurance.
