Abby Richter is a romantically challenged morning show producer whose search for "Mr. Perfect" has left her hopelessly single. When her show's ratings plummet, she is forced to team up with Mike Chadway, a chauvinistic and crude television personality who claims to know the "ugly truth" about what men really want. Mike strikes a deal to help Abby win over her handsome neighbor using his provocative relationship theories, but as his outrageous coaching begins to work, the two polar opposites find themselves developing an unexpected connection that defies Mike’s own cynical rules of attraction.
